Barangay Balud

Barangay Balud is a small barangay in the municipality of San Roque, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balud had a population of 930. This made it the 14th largest of 16 barangays in San Roque by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balud accounted for approximately 3.11% of the total population of San Roque, which stood at 29,882 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balud moving from 920 residents to 930 residents, an intercensal change of +1.1%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Balud is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Roque is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balud, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
