Barangay Malobago

Situated in San Roque, Northern Samar, Barangay Malobago is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malobago had a population of 1,140. This made it the 12th largest of 16 barangays in San Roque by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malobago accounted for approximately 3.82% of the total population of San Roque, which stood at 29,882 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Malobago changed from 1,289 to 1,140, a shift of -11.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in San Roque. Barangay Malobago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Roque is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malobago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
