Barangay Callungan

Barangay Callungan is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Sanchez-Mira, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Callungan had a population of 2,013. This made it the 5th largest of 18 barangays in Sanchez-Mira by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Callungan accounted for approximately 7.69% of the total population of Sanchez-Mira, which stood at 26,164 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Callungan moving from 1,734 residents to 2,013 residents, an intercensal change of +16.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Callungan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
