Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.)

Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Balilihan, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.) had a population of 630. This made it the 17th largest of 31 barangays in Balilihan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.37% of the total population of Balilihan, which stood at 18,694 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 615 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 630 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balilihan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Del Carmen Sur (Pob.) ranks 833rd by 2020 population.
