Barangay Magsija

Barangay Magsija is a small barangay in the municipality of Balilihan, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magsija had a population of 632. This made it the 16th largest of 31 barangays in Balilihan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magsija accounted for approximately 3.38% of the total population of Balilihan, which stood at 18,694 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magsija moving from 611 residents to 632 residents, an intercensal change of +3.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magsija as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balilihan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Magsija, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
