Barangay Batobato

Barangay Batobato is a very small barangay in the municipality of Libacao, located in the province of Aklan, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Batobato had a population of 460. This made it the 21st largest of 24 barangays in Libacao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batobato accounted for approximately 1.63% of the total population of Libacao, which stood at 28,272 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batobato moving from 501 residents to 460 residents, an intercensal change of -8.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Batobato as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Libacao is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Batobato, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aklan, which contains 327 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Batobato ranks 303rd by 2020 population.
