Barangay Cabungahan

Barangay Cabungahan forms part of Ma-Ayon, a municipality in Capiz, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cabungahan had a population of 1,483. This made it the 12th largest of 32 barangays in Ma-Ayon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabungahan accounted for approximately 3.60% of the total population of Ma-Ayon, which stood at 41,226 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,501 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,483 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.2%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Cabungahan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ma-Ayon is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabungahan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
