Barangay Canapian

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Canapian is one of the administrative divisions of Ma-Ayon in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Canapian had a population of 1,644. This made it the 6th largest of 32 barangays in Ma-Ayon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canapian accounted for approximately 3.99% of the total population of Ma-Ayon, which stood at 41,226 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,518 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,644 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Canapian is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ma-Ayon is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Canapian, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
