Barangay Abat

Barangay Abat is a small barangay in the municipality of Mina, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Abat had a population of 944. This made it the 12th largest of 22 barangays in Mina by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Abat accounted for approximately 3.93% of the total population of Mina, which stood at 24,042 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Abat moving from 850 residents to 944 residents, an intercensal change of +11.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Abat as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
