Barangay Guibuangan

Barangay Guibuangan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Mina, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guibuangan had a population of 341. This made it the 21st largest of 22 barangays in Mina by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guibuangan accounted for approximately 1.42% of the total population of Mina, which stood at 24,042 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Guibuangan changed from 293 to 341, a shift of +16.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Mina. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guibuangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mina is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guibuangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guibuangan ranks 1521st by 2020 population.
