Barangay Capul-an

Barangay Capul-an forms part of Mina, a municipality in Iloilo, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Capul-an had a population of 580. This made it the 18th largest of 22 barangays in Mina by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Capul-an accounted for approximately 2.41% of the total population of Mina, which stood at 24,042 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Capul-an changed from 653 to 580, a shift of -11.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Mina. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Capul-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mina is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Capul-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
