Barangay Polipol

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Polipol is one of the administrative divisions of San Gabriel in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Polipol had a population of 902. This made it the 8th largest of 15 barangays in San Gabriel by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Polipol accounted for approximately 4.76% of the total population of San Gabriel, which stood at 18,943 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 940 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 902 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Polipol as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Gabriel is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Polipol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Polipol ranks 399th by 2020 population.
