This made it the 4th largest of 31 barangays in City of Valencia by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Bagontaas accounted for approximately 5.90% of the total population of City of Valencia, which stood at 216,546 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 10,619 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 12,772 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +20.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bagontaas is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
