Situated in City of Valencia, Bukidnon, Barangay Catumbalon is one of 31 barangays that make up the city within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Catumbalon had a population of 2,456. This made it the 28th largest of 31 barangays in City of Valencia by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Catumbalon accounted for approximately 1.13% of the total population of City of Valencia, which stood at 216,546 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,291 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,456 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Catumbalon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
