Barangay Tapulang

Situated in Ma-Ayon, Capiz, Barangay Tapulang is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tapulang had a population of 1,551. This made it the 8th largest of 32 barangays in Ma-Ayon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tapulang accounted for approximately 3.76% of the total population of Ma-Ayon, which stood at 41,226 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tapulang moving from 1,511 residents to 1,551 residents, an intercensal change of +2.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tapulang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ma-Ayon is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tapulang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
