Barangay Tumay

Situated in Mina, Iloilo, Barangay Tumay is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tumay had a population of 1,090. This made it the 10th largest of 22 barangays in Mina by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tumay accounted for approximately 4.53% of the total population of Mina, which stood at 24,042 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,101 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,090 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.0%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Tumay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mina is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tumay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
