Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lumbo changed from 16,082 to 18,229, a shift of +13.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Valencia. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lumbo as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Valencia is a city comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lumbo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
